New website Softlution launched

Fresh and crispy new design by our experienced designers and filled with new and additional content.
Finally the new website of the Softlution Group is ready. This is long overdue, as our customers and their projects always have a higher priority then our own website.
With our new website we demonstrate the skills of our different disciplines we have within our company. Not only was the online strategy, user experience and design created by our designers, but also the online marketing part was done completely in-house.
We started by defining our online strategy and the target groups we see for our services and solutions. This is not always easy and we see also within our customer projects that such a process takes time and consideration. We then defined the personas, being the different stakeholders within a company when implementing an E-Business, PIM or CMS solution. Usability and organic search engine optimization (SEO) are always important, from the beginning of the project. These starting points are in our opinion key values within every online project. Following the usability and SEO principles, our designers created the PSD files (Photoshop) which were converted to CSS and HTML by our nearshore facility in Minsk. Our online marketeers created key phrases, URL mapping, sitemap and performed other activities to SEO the new website.
Our Professional Services department implemented the requirements resulting from the PSD's into the open-source content management system OpenCms. This CMS is a user-friendly, highly-scalable solution used by many large organisations worldwide. In parallel, the Managed Services department set-up development-, test-, acceptance and production instances, fully virtualized on our own failover infrastructure in the Internet datacenter of Clara.net in Son (near Eindhoven). Our Managed Services department uses the virtualization possibilities standard in the Solaris X86 operating system from SUN Microsystems (to be taken over by Oracle) on SUN based X86 servers. This virtualization technology hardly has any overhead (aprox. 2%) and performance of our hosted customers is very good with an average availability of 99,8%.
Of course, the website was tested by our Quality Assurance department before we put it live, testing the site on its usability, functionality and performance with different webbrowsers on Windows, Linux and even Mac OSX. Last but not least, we re-wrote the complete content of our website in order the help our prospects and customers find the information they need. This is of course not a snapshot for this moment, but an ongoing task. New press releases, events and job openings can be created and published very quickly with limited effort.
