New webshop for fast time-to-market in online marketing actions.

Client situation

Levi Strauss is one of the most famous clothing brands in the world, headquartered in the US with a listing on the NASDAQ. Multi-brand and multi-channel are key within a multinational like Levis, together with sophisticated and teasing designs.


Challenge

The existing E-Commerce solution of Levi Strauss was based on a SaaS model. The marketing department had no flexibility whatsoever. It took the hosting company a long time to get changes or marketing actions to the market. Furthermore, the platform also had limited online marketing capabilities.

Another important issue was to have a multi-brand strategy, which was not feasible within the SaaS-model. The quality of catalogue- and product content was very poor, as the hosted solution missed out on a PIM solution.


Solution

Softlution made a conceptual design of a new E-Commerce solution based on the hybris platform. The implementation of the hybris eCommerce Suite was done in an aggressive timeframe of three months. The new webshop will be available in 10 countries, in 8 different languages and two strategic business units ('brands'). The webshop uses an advanced design with Flash and AJAX and a faceted search and navigation.

The following integrations were done:

  • Integration with Fatwire CMS
  • Integration with GlobalCollect PSP
  • Integration with fulfilment partner Arvato

The integrated E-mail module is based on Velocity. Also, an export of product catalogue is possible to shopbots. The B2C and B2B solution are implemented on one platform.

Results

The following results were achieved by the customer:

  • Flexible and scalable E-Business solution with short implementation time and future proof
  • Flexible and fast search based on Lucene & SOLR
  • Extensive use of facets to navigate through the catalog
  • Extensive use of online marketing functionality, e.g.
    • Coupons
    • Hot deals
    • Bundles
    • Cross- and upsell
  • Cost savings on hosting and the SaaS model
  • Increase in conversion rate
