www.plutosport.nl was founded in the Netherlands in 2005. Today it is the largest online sports store in the Netherlands and has webshops in over 5 European countries in 4 different languages.

Client situation

Plutosport sells sports & lifestyle clothing, shoes & accessories of all major brands at competitive prices. Plutosport is a marketing-driven company that markets the best brand & product offers to its customers through email-marketing campaigns, affiliate programs, adword campaigns and off line marketing initiatives.


Challenge

Plutosport had an existing E-Commerce solution based on an outdated version of E-pages resulting in limited flexibility. There was a long time-to-market for changes and marketing actions and there were limited online marketing capabilities. The existing platform did no longer fit in to Plutosports growth strategy as the platform was struggling to cope with the increases in traffic to Plutosports webshops. After a brief trial with Magento they quickly decided to move over to hybris.


Solution

Highlights of the solution implemented by Softlution are:

•       Implementation of various new B2C features and improvements like fast and clear navigation, based on the hybris platform, to meet the specific needs of the customer.
•       Extended use of hybris Web Content Management to maintain the different online shops by the content managers. Now, users can execute their own marketing ideas without being dependent on IT.
•       Data transformation and migration from the old E-Commerce application.
•       User-friendly product presentation with detailed product photos and zoom functionality.
•       Search & navigation with filtering capabilities by product, brand, sport and gender.
•       Increase in marketing tools such as upselling, cross-selling, gift-with-purchase promotions and bulk- & set prices.
•       Country-specific content.
•       Country-specific payment methods.
•       Bidirectional integration with ERP for logistics and stockhandling.
•       SEO & Google Analytics integration.
•       Multiple affiliate integration like Zanox, M4N and others.
•       Integration with the personalized retargeting network Criteo.
•       Rollout to 4+ countries with different languages, future expanding through Europe is foreseen.
•       Integration with marketing software of Copernica.

Results

Softlution implemented the flexible and scalable hybris E-Business solution.  Plutosport now has a future proof solution with a flexible and fast search and extensive use of facets to navigate through the catalog.To increase the traffic and conversion rate constantly, Plutosport uses extensive online marketing functionalities like promotions, coupons, bundles and cross- and up sell. They add new products daily to the site. The most actual promotions can be found in the sale category. For analysing and optimizing Google Analytics is used.
