Client situation
Before Wildkamp came to Softlution, there was only a legacy ERP system in place. Wildkamp had the ambition to be successful not only through the existing stores, but also online with a webshop. And not only a webshop for Wildkamp, but multi-brand and multi-national.
Wildkamp recognized as market-leader that content and the quality of the content was key in becoming successful online. To support the idea of media neutral catalog- and product information, Wildkamp choose to implement a PIM (Product Information System) solution. Out of the PIM solution it would be possible to supply the catalog- and product information not only to the online shop, but also highly automate the production process of the paper catalog and even supply the data to the newly implemented ERP system.
Challenge
The challenge was for Wildkamp to go to market as soon as possible, although the organization was involved in implementing multiple new IT systems at the same time (ERP, PIM, E-Commerce, website, etc). This means that internal resources were limited available.
Solution
The highlights of the implemented integrated solution are:
- Customer specific prices maintained in the ERP system
- Automatic sales price updates
- Integration between Adobe InDesign and PIM
- PDF Generation with product information directly from the PIM system
- SEO integration and additional tags for easy reporting (funnel)
- Nightly fully automated export and import from PIM to the E-Commerce system including products, product groups, prices, images and movies
- Pagecaching and database optimization for a fast shopping experience
- Easy changeable banners on the homepage and product group pages which can be done by Wildkamp
- OpenCMS integration for displaying general information which can be maintained by Wildkamp

Results
Softlution was able to implement the CMS, PIM and E-Commerce (based on Intershop Suite 6) integrated solution within 6 months after starting the project. Within 12 months after the go-live, the online shop had the same turnover as a small store. Through the years Wildkamp has extended the online shop with new functionality, like separate Consumer and Business channels, statistics through Webtrends and Google Analytics, SEO and extensive online marketing campaigns (e.g. Adwords) and has also become a major online player in their respective market segment.
